My Story in a Nutshell...
During a period of my childhood that was mentally and emotionally distressing, I started reading fantasy young-adult literature to escape reality and ultimately fell in love with creative imagination. At twelve years old, I began teaching myself about creative writing and wrote multiple stories about fantasy adventures and hopeless romantic love stories. By the time I reached senior year of high school, I'd finished writing three novels and countless poems!

In my sophomore year of college, I started participating in open mics on campus and in the community (not eloquently, I'm afraid). During that period, I adopted the stage name The White Dove Poet in honor of my late great-grandmother and used that title from 2022 until 2024.
In late 2024, to reflect the shifts and merges of my passions and careers, I changed my stage name to Neuro-Sunflower Poet/ry. This name connects me to my grandmother with her favorite flower, the sunflower also representing the hidden disability community, my interest in neuroscience, and my lifelong dedication to poetry and creative writing.
